Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On March 9th at 2 AM, Ventura Police Department Patrol officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6000 block of Bristol Rd. During the investigation, VPD K9 “Jag” was used for a search for contraband and he alerted on the vehicle. During a search officers located over 6 pounds of methamphetamine and thousands of dollars in proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Herrera was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales and transportation. He was booked at the Ventura County Jail.
Over the past two days the Ventura Police Department has seized over 8 pounds of methamphetamine. Based on court testimony from experts in the use of illegal drugs; most people who use methamphetamine use (ingest, smoke, snort, or inject) about a tenth of a gram in a single use. The amount of methamphetamine seized in the past two days translates to over 35,000 single uses.
