Ventura, Calif. — During its City Council meeting on February 1, 2021, the Ventura City Council approved an appointment process to fill the District 4 vacancy. The vacancy was created after City Councilmember Erik Nasarenko was appointed as the new District Attorney for Ventura’s County on January 26, 2021. Councilmember Nasarenko submitted his resignation effective that same date.
The Ventura City Council has voted to accept applications to fill the vacancy by appointment under Section 705(c) of the Charter.
To be eligible to apply, candidates must be 18 years or older and a registered voter of District 4 in the City of Ventura.
Applicants who meet the criteria above must submit a “Vacancy Application Form” and resume by email to[email protected]. The deadline is Monday, February 8, 2021, by5:30 p.m. Upon receipt, the applicant’s address and registration as a voter in District 4 will be verified by the City Clerk’s Office. Late applications will not be accepted.
The City Council will interview applicants during a public meeting on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
