Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 1/15/21, Ventura Police Department Street Crimes Detectives (SCU) were conducting a follow- up to a property crimes investigation. Detectives using investigative tools were able to find a location where a potential person of interest was.
Detectives arrived at the above address and found Cy Segovia removing property from a storage unit. Upon further investigation, detectives determined they had caught Segovia in the process of committing a commercial burglary to a storage unit.
Segovia rented an adjoining unit, pried back the wall separating the storage units, and then removed the property. Investigators contacted the victim owner of the unit, who identified his property as being stolen. Segovia was arrested for commercial burglary, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.
A review of the Ventura County Superior Court website shows that Segovia has prior convictions for vehicle theft, burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of controlled substance, under the influence of a controlled substance, criminal threats, resisting arrest, disobeying a court order, and carrying a concealed firearm.
