During the investigation, officers learned that Garner was on probation and conducted a search of his vehicle and his nearby storage unit. As a result of the search, officers located a stolen assault rifle, a grenade launcher, ammunition, and a controlled substance.
Garner was arrested for multiple charges including Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Possession of a Destructive Device, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, and Transportation of a Controlled Substance
A review of the Ventura County Superior Court website shows Garner has 22 prior convictions for violations including, but not limited to: Possession of Marijuana for Sales, Possession of a Firearm By A Felon, Possession of Tear Gas by Felon, Carrying a Dirk or Dagger Concealed on the Person, Disruptive Presence at School, Possession Of Injection/ingestion Device, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting, Obstructing, or Delaying a Peace Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Petty Theft, and Trespassing.
The new said this felon with numerous arrest record was released on his own cognizance pending trail. This must be a mistake as it makes no sense on freeing a convicted felon with not even bail. That would be a travesty of law!
Maybe he was going to be the Terminator for Halloween.
