VENTURA, Calif. – Community volunteers are needed for the annual count and survey of homeless persons in Ventura County. The 2020 Ventura County Homeless Count has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2019.
The annual Homeless Count is coordinated by the Ventura County Continuum of Care and County of Ventura, in partnership with community partners and cities. The survey data will be collected through a mobile app called “Counting Us” by Simtech Solutions. This data provides a Point-In-Time (PIT) “snapshot” as to what the homeless population in Ventura County looks like during a single day to help community leaders better understand who is homeless, why and for how long. The survey data helps our community gain access to state and federal funding, as well as determine the greatest priorities to prevent and end homelessness in Ventura County.
In order to conduct a full and accurate count, the Ventura County Continuum of Care is seeking 500 volunteers. Volunteers are required to attend a training in their community in mid-January 2020 and will be paired up with another volunteer on the morning of the count to canvass areas seeking persons to survey. Volunteers will be asked to download the free “Counting Us” app to their mobile device for data collection. Download the mobile app here: http://pointintime.info/. VENTURA, Calif. – Se necesitan voluntarios de la comunidad para el conteo y encuesta anual de personas sin hogar en el Condado de Ventura. El Conteo de Personas Sin Hogar del Condado de Ventura de 2020 ha sido programado para miércoles, el 29 de enero del 2020.
El Conteo Anual de Personas Sin Hogar se coordina por la Alianza de Cuidado Continuo del Condado de Ventura, junto con las ciudades y los socios comunitarios. Los datos de la encuesta serán recolectados por medio de una aplicación móvil llamado “Counting Us” hecha por Simtech Solutions. Estos datos brindan una rápida percepción sobre cómo se ve la población sin hogar en el Condado de Ventura durante un solo día. Esta encuesta ayuda a los líderes de la comunidad comprender mejor quienes son las personas sin hogar, por qué, y por cuánto tiempo. Los datos de la encuesta ayudan a nuestra comunidad acceder la financiación estatal y federal, así como a determinar las mayores prioridades para prevenir y acabar con la falta de vivienda en el Condado de Ventura
Para llevar a cabo un conteo preciso y completo, la Alianza de Cuidado Continuo del Condado de Ventura se busca 500 voluntarios. Se requieren a los voluntarios asistir a un seminario en su comunidad a mediados de enero del 2020 y estarán emparejados en el día del conteo para recorrer las áreas identificadas, buscando gente con quien hablar.
