Letter to the Editor
Tim Sprinkles is a long-time member of the Camarillo community and is very active in the community as well including but not limited to the Boys & Girls Club, Rotary, his HOA, the Camarillo House Foundation, the Filipino community, etc. Many people can make these types of claims.
So, what sets Tim apart?
Most people who fill this office love the community, but they are first what I call fire-fighters and put out the fires that are in the community. Hopefully, one day they will grow into planners but generally, they don’t see more than 5 years in advance. Some join the city council to advance personal projects in which they are currently involved. Tim Sprinkles on the other hand has studied the community and has seen the recurring problems and figured out long-term solutions for those problems.
For example, how do you manage population growth without sacrificing farmland and the charm of the community? Tim Sprinkles has a plan. Promote in-fill construction of median priced residential units. Adjust height limit and unit density restrictions for mixed use designated areas.
How do you resolve the water issue for Camarillo? The current city council is building a desalinization plant to increase the water supply, Camarillo remains dependent upon importing water and the plant has a limited life span. Tim Sprinkles has a plan that would eliminate the demand for importing water while providing a permanent solution to the water demands.
These are only two issues. This difference is that Tim has not only found the problems but comes with real solutions. Look at his vision and his issues pages on his website.
